Move the start and stop pins to appropriate times for swimming pool filter operation. Align the bar with the current time and push it back into place. Otherwise the swimming pool timer may operate at odd hours. 1 Read your manufacturer's instructions to determine the parts of the dial. Reset the swimming pool clock if the electricity has been off. On the clock-dial is a silver time pointer that points to the current time. Open your pool timer box and look for the clock dialon most models, it's yellow in color with a small red or silver handle outstretching from it. Im thinking if it is a stripped gear, it's either going to be gear 1 or 2, maybe 3. Locate the clock dial inside the timer box. One is located on top of the timer box and two are located inside the timer box towards the bottom. Step 3 Mark the locations for the three mounting screws. Gear 4 comes with the new timer motor and sticks through the mounting plate and engages gear 2. You can see how this disengages gear 1 from 3 to set the time. I have pulled the clock wheel out in this picture like you would to set the correct time. You can see the spring between the clock wheel, and the current time pointer(silver). The spring keeps the clock wheel engaged to gear 3. Were just looking at the gears on this side of the mounting plate.Ĭan you rotate the yellow clock wheel without having to pull it out? If so, this would suggest a broken or missing spring, or stripped gear 1 or 3. 1 being the largest, down to 4 the smallest.
